Frank Turner first found acclaim fronting British hardcore band Million Dead. When they split in 2005 he picked up his acoustic guitar and hit the road, embarking on a new career as a singer-songwriter. As he says in this interview, his friends all thought he was crazy. But Frank had a plan.
That plan has worked out pretty well, given that his past four records have debuted in the TOP 5 in the UK, he can now sell out venues like London’s O2 Arena, and tour the world playing to packed rooms.
But there have been scrapes along the way, including death threats and issues with mental health and addiction. We talk about all that and more in this in-depth conversation.
