Late last year The Avalanches released their third album, We Will Always Love You.

It’s the follow-up to 2016’s Wildflower, an album that almost defined the very idea of a troubled second record – it arrived 16 years after the band’s classic debut, Since I Left You, a period characterised by false starts, illness, and the departure of band members including Darren Seltmann. It was also a period in which co-founder Robbie Chater relapsed into the alcoholism that almost killed him in his early 20s.

Now The Avalanches have returned triumphant with We Will Always Love You, which merges their sample-based approach to making music with contributions from an incredible list of guest artists.

Robbie talks about it all – and the LP's incredible concept – in this interview.
